Kahina and Xena, Warrior Princesses

You cannot be more highly honored than to be in a Xena episode, in this instance "Legacy" (Season 6 in 2000). After a dramatic sandstorm, Xena and Gabrielle help two warring Berber tribes, one of which is led by Kahina (above), to put aside their differences and take on their mutual enemy the Romans. It's all a bit odd, but the historical Kahina fought the Umayyad Muslims in Africa, not the Romans. Anyway, it's the lesbian sub-text that's most interesting... Whether they were or not, their fans have made them so.

Gabrielle: "For once, Xena, I'd like to be the Roman noble and you be the slave." Hmmm...
